NebOS is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and all applicable South African data protection legislation.
1. Who we are
NebOS is a South African insurance and broker management platform. As a Responsible Party under POPIA, we determine the purpose and means of processing your personal information.
2. What we collect
We collect information you provide directly (name, contact details, ID number, financial data), information generated through platform use (activity logs, policy and claims data), and information from authorised third parties (insurers, underwriters, payment processors).
3. Why we collect it
We process personal information to provide and improve our services, comply with legal and regulatory obligations (FAIS, FSCA, SARS), facilitate insurance policy and claims management, send transactional communications, and prevent fraud.
4. Who we share it with
We share information with insurers and underwriters to fulfil policy obligations, payment processors for premium collection, regulators when required by law, and cloud service providers under appropriate data processing agreements.
5. How we protect it
We implement technical and organisational safeguards including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, tenant data isolation, and regular security audits.
6. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information; to object to processing; and to submit a complaint to the Information Regulator. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@nebos.co.za.
7. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined above, typically seven years for financial records in line with SARS requirements.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
